Jim’s daughter Heidi is a dear friend of mine and Heidi conveniently lives down the road. One day I noticed a print on her wall that was hanging in the most beautiful wooden frame. I recently had some framing done–and was still recovering from how much I paid for it– so I asked her who made her frame. She told me the frame was a gift from her dad.
Well, I tucked that little nugget of info in my head and a few years later, when I was thinking of displaying my large, non-standard sized art, I decided to see if he would be willing to make some beautiful frames for me.
Lucky for me, Jim is a very nice man who happens to be retired with a woodshop in his backyard filled with all sorts of wood he has cut and milled. He graciously obliged and we went to work finding the perfect design and soon he was producing frames like a professional.
When I picked up the first batch of frames, I couldn’t help but immediately throw a piece of art in it and hang it on my wall.
I can tell you that every time I opened the door to my home and saw that artwork and frame hanging on my wall, it made me smile.
And that’s just the effect I hope our work will have on you.
At this point, Jim doesn’t want to spend all of his free time making frames, so frames will only be available for purchase with my original artwork. I feel pretty privileged to be able to say that, but if he ever does decide to come out of retirement and go into full-time framing, I assure you, I won’t keep it a secret.
Just another great reason to get on the mailing list.
